Warning: If your school uses a nightly sync with your Student Information System (SIS), you must update the records there as well. Any user archived in Minga who is still marked as "Active" in your SIS will be automatically re-added to Minga during the next nightly sync.

You may need to remove users at the end of a school year or when an individual student or teacher leaves your campus. Removing them from Minga ensures they can no longer access school resources and allows them to be added to a different school if they are transferring.

Navigate to app.minga.io and log in to your account.
Click on People Manager in the left-hand navigation menu.
Click the Archive button to open the user removal tool.
Identify the users you want to archive using one of these two methods:
a. Manual Search: Type a Name, Group, Role, or Grade into the search bar.
b. Bulk Upload: Drag and drop an Excel or CSV file containing your list of users into the upload area.Select the user(s) by clicking the Checkboxes next to their names.
Click the Archive button.
Select Confirm in the pop-up window to finalize the process.
Tip: If a student is transferring schools, they must be archived in their current Minga before their new school can add them to their system.

Can I undo the archiving of a user?
No, you cannot undo the archiving of a user directly through the interface; however, the user's data is still stored securely in the system. This allows us to comply with student data laws while keeping the record available if needed later.
Why did an archived user reappear in my People Manager?
A user will reappear in your People Manager if they are still listed as active in your Student Information System (SIS). To keep them removed, you must ensure their status is updated in your SIS before the next nightly sync occurs.
