Signing in to Minga for the First Time

Learn how to log in to Minga using single sign-on methods or your school email.

Welcome to Minga! We are excited to help you get started with your digital school community. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to log in for the first time so you can access your Digital ID, school events, and more. By the end of this guide, you will be successfully signed into your account.

Before you begin: Minga is an invite-only platform. You must be added to the system by a school admin before you can log in. Ensure you have your school-issued email address and password (Google, Microsoft, or Clever) ready.

Accessing Minga

You can access Minga from almost any device with an internet connection, including smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks, and desktop computers.

  1. For web users: Open any web browser and navigate to app.minga.io.

  2. For mobile users: Open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your device.

  3. Search for Minga.

  4. Click Download or Install to add the app to your device.


How to Sign in for the First Time

You can log in to Minga by using single sign-on (SSO) or by entering your school email and password.

Whether logging in on a browser or the Minga app, the steps are the same:

Step-by-step Guide to Signing into Minga through SSO

  1. Navigate to the Minga login screen.

  2. Select the button that matches your school's email provider:

    • Sign in with Google

    • Sign in with Microsoft

    • Sign in with Clever

    • Sign in with ClassLink

  3. If your school does not use SSO, click Login with email and password to enter your credentials manually.

  4. Follow the prompts on the screen to enter your school email address and password.

Tip: You can download the Minga app for easy access on your mobile device. The functionality is the same as the browser. Simply search for Minga in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.


How to Log Out of your Minga Account

There may be times when you need to log out of your Minga session, often to initiate updates or after clearing the cache on your device.

Step-by-Step Guide to Logging Out of Minga (Web)

  1. From the main navigation menu, select the log out icon.

    ○ The log out icon is below the blue Help & Support button and looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing to the right.

  2. Click on the log out icon.
    ○ You will then be presented with a message asking Are you sure you want to log out?

  3. Select Logout to log out of your session.

  1. On the main menu navigation at the bottom of the screen, select More.
    ○ The More icon looks like three dots in a row and opens the side navigation menu in the app.

  2. Navigate to the log out icon in the bottom right corner.
    ○ The log out icon is located below the blue Help & Support button and looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing to the right.

  3. Click on the log out icon.
    ○ You will then be presented with a message asking Are you sure you want to log out?

  4. Select Logout to log out of your session.


Troubleshooting

Issue: Unable to log in using SSO

Solution: If you're having trouble logging in with Google, Microsoft, or Clever, ensure that your school’s SSO settings are correctly configured. You may need to contact your school admin for assistance.

Issue: Unable to log in using SSO

Solution: Some Mingas exist in other regions. Check your selected Minga region by clicking the flag at the bottom of the login page.

Issue: Can't remember your password

Solution: On the login page, look for the "Forgot password?" link to begin the process to reset your password using the connected email address.

Issue: Can't remember your school email or password

Solution: School Minga Admins can reset passwords for individual users within Minga. Contact your school administrator for help with resetting your login credentials.

Can I log in to Minga with my personal email?

No, Minga is an invite-only platform and requires a school-issued email for login. You must use the email provided by your school to sign in.

Can I log in to Minga on more than one device?

You can log in to Minga on multiple devices simultaneously, such as your laptop and your mobile phone. Your account information and notifications will sync across all devices where you are signed in.

What should I do if I forgot my password?

If you use Google, Microsoft, or Clever to sign in, you must follow your school’s standard process for resetting your school email password. Minga does not manage passwords for SSO accounts. If you use a manual email and password to log in, click the Forgot Password? link on the login screen to receive a reset email.
