Standard Sign-in Methods
Minga uses Single Sign On (SSO) to verify your identity using your existing school credentials. This is the recommended way to sign in because it does not require you to remember a separate Minga password.
Step-by-step Guide to Logging into Minga via SSO
Step-by-step Guide to Logging into Minga via SSO
Navigate to the Sign In page on the Minga app or website.
Select your school's authentication provider:
Sign in with Google
Sign in with Microsoft
Sign in with Clever
Sign in with ClassLink
Enter your school email address and your standard school password when prompted by the provider.
Outcome: You are authenticated by your provider and redirected to your Minga home screen.
Troubleshooting SSO
If you receive an "Uh Oh!" error or the app fails to log you in, follow these steps to verify your account.
Verify your account exists: Ask a school administrator to check the People manager in Minga to ensure your email address was entered correctly and your account is active.
Check the email account: Ensure you are selecting your school email address and not a personal Gmail or Outlook account.
IT Department Approval: If no one at your school can sign in via SSO, your IT department may need to approve the Minga app within your school's Google or Microsoft environment.
Pro Tip: If SSO fails on a mobile device, try signing in from a computer or Chromebook to determine if the issue is account-related or device-related.
Resolving SSO Errors
Minga supports Single Sign On (SSO) with Google, Microsoft, Clever, and ClassLink. Minga asks Google/Microsoft/Clever/ ClassLink to verify a user is who they say they are by verifying the email address (and password) of the account created in Minga.
Nobody at My School Can Sign in with SSO

If nobody can sign into Minga using Single Sign On (SSO), then your IT Team has likely not yet approved SSO Support for the Minga app. Please consult with your IT Department and ask them to approve Minga for SSO.
If your IT department have authorized Minga, but SSO still does not work, contact [email protected].

If only a few users in your Minga are running into issues signing into Minga using the SSO, there are a few common troubleshooting methods that usually resolve the issue.
Error Message: Uh Oh! We had a problem logging in via single sign on. Are you sure this email has been added to Minga? |
Steps to Resolve:
Ensure that they have a valid account in Minga.
Navigate to People and double-check that the student has a valid account in Minga.
Ensure that there are no errors in the email address.
Ensure the User is using the correct email account for SSO.
A User may have entered their personal email address instead of their school email address (which is typically associated with their Minga Account), especially if they are using a personal device.
Double-check that they are using the email address that is rostering from your SIS.

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Error Message: "Unable to process request due to missing initial state"
Solution: This error indicates your browser is blocking the cookies or communication needed for SSO. To fix this on an iPhone, go to Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security and turn OFF "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking." For other devices, ensure your browser is not blocking all cookies.
Error Message: "Uh Oh! We had a problem logging in via single sign on"
Solution: This usually means the email address you are using for SSO does not match the one listed in Minga. Verify with your teacher or admin that they have added your school email to the People manager and that there are no typos in the address.
FAQs
FAQs
Can I use my personal Gmail to sign in to Minga?
No, you cannot use a personal Gmail account to sign in unless that specific email address has been manually added to Minga in the People Dashboard by an Owner. It is best practice to always try your school-issued email account first.
What should I do if I forgot my Minga password?
If you normally sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Clever, you do not have a Minga password; you must use your school account password. If you use a manual login, you can click the Forgot Password? link on the sign-in screen to receive a reset email.
