Configure Posting Preferences

You can customize who is allowed to share information on the main school feed by adjusting your Posting Preferences. This ensures that the content remains relevant and follows your school's communication policy.

Step-by-Step Guide to Configuring Posting Preferences

  1. Click on Settings in the main navigation menu.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Posting Preferences section and click the arrow to expand the menu.

  4. Select the Checkboxes for the roles you want to grant permissions to:

    • Allow to post to the main feed: Choose roles like Teacher, Staff or Student Leader to create top-level posts.

    • Allow to upload custom videos: Select which roles have permission to share video content directly.

    • Allow to comment by default: Determine which roles can respond to posts to encourage discussion.

Note: Owners, District Managers, and Managers have these permissions by default, and the permissions for these roles cannot be revoked.

Good to Know: Permissions for posting within specific Groups are managed separately within individual group settings rather than the main school feed settings.

Manage the Photo Gallery

The Photo Gallery shares photos with your entire community at the top of the Home Feed, making it a great way to show off school spirit. You can also control who has the authority to create new clubs and associations.

Step-by-Step Guide to Managing Photo Gallery and Group Preferences

  1. Navigate to your Minga Settings.

  2. Locate the Photo Gallery Preferences section.

  3. Toggle the switch to Enable Photo Gallery (this is on by default).

  4. Select the Checkboxes under Allow the following roles to add photos to the gallery.

  5. Scroll to Group Preferences to decide which roles can add new groups to your Minga.

    • Select roles such as Teacher or Staff to allow them to manage their own clubs and teams.

Pro Tip: Enabling Student Leaders to post photos is a great way to capture authentic school moments and events.

Enable Direct Messaging

You can simplify communication between students, parents, and staff by enabling Direct Messaging. Owners can specifically control which roles are allowed to message each other to maintain privacy and safety.

  2. Click on the downward arrow for the Communication & Notifications section.
