    • A setup form opens for the new reason.

  3. Enter a reason name that matches the consequence you want to complete.
    • Use the same wording as the detention consequence (example: Lunch Detention).

  4. Click Select Roles and choose Student and Student Leaders.
    • Role selection controls who can be checked in using this reason.

  5. Select the consequence under Auto Complete Most Outstanding Consequence.
    • Choose the detention consequence that should be completed when the student checks in.

  6. Click Create.
    • The reason becomes available in staff tools for detention check-in.

You can check students in when they arrive, and the system completes the first outstanding detention automatically when the reason is configured.

  1. Navigate to MyTools.
    MyTools contains staff actions like assigning check ins.​

  2. Click Assign a Check In.
    • The assignment panel opens.​

  3. Select the detention reason (example: Lunch Detention) and click Assign
    • The reason you created in Check InReasons appears here.​

  4. Add the student using one of the available methods.
    • Type the student name, select the student, and click Add.
    • Scan the student ID using a Barcode Scanner.
    • Use Scan with Camera on a mobile device.​

  5. Confirm the check-in is recorded.
    •When the reason uses Auto Complete First Outstanding Consequence, the student’s first outstanding detention is completed after the check in is processed.


How to Complete Consequences in Minga through the Consequence History Report

You can complete detentions manually from reporting by using the Complete button next to each student. To do this, teachers and staff would need to be added to the Behavior Manager list in Behavior Settings; otherwise, only Owners and Managers can use this workflow.

  1. Navigate to Behaviors and click the Reports tab
    • Reporting tools are located under Reports in Behaviors.

  2. Select the Consequence History report
    • The report view loads with filtering controls.

  3. Set your filters and click Apply Filters
    • Select a Date Range.
    • Select a Consequence Type (example: detention).
    • Apply filters to show the students you are checking in.

  4. Click the green Complete button next to each student who arrives
    •Clicking Complete marks the detention consequence as completed for that student.
