Release Notes for 2025

Release 7.13.0 – December 19, 2025

This release brings new admin controls, better workflows for teachers, and a more intuitive experience for students. All designed to streamline how FlexTime and My Class modules are used together.

New Features

FlexTime - Allow Teachers to manage all activities setting

In a school that uses FlexTime periods, teachers may need to manage and oversee activities even if they are not directly responsible for leading those activities. Now, Owners can turn ON the setting to let teachers register and assign students to other teachers' activities as well.

Earlier, this was released for FlexTime module but now it applies to My Class and student profile as well.

  1. Navigate to Settings in the FlexTime module.

  2. Under FlexTime Settings, turn ON the toggle to allow teachers to manage all activities.

FlexTime - Students only see available activities for registration

Students want to know which FlexTime activities they can register for and visibility into why they cannot register for others. Now, Students will see the remaining seat count for available activities and greyed-out activities when the activities are full or restricted.

Students:

  1. Navigate to MyTools and click on the FlexTime Tab

  2. Click the Register button

  3. Observe which activities are available

Improvements

FlexTime - Select multiple activities when adding to a FlexTime period

Adding one FlexTime activity at a time can be time-consuming and tedious. Now, you can select multiple Activities at a time when setting up a FlexTime Period.

  1. Navigate to the Activities tab in FlexTime

  2. Select the desired Flex Period from the drop-down menu

  3. Click Add Activity

  4. Select the activities you would like to add by clicking on the box to the left of the Activity name

  5. Click Add

My Class - Search Any Student

Not every student that you assign hall passes or behaviors to will be on your class lists, and that should not limit you from finding that student quickly in MyClass. Now, Teachers can search for students in My Class even when no user list is selected, and assign them any actions.

FlexTime - Teacher Notes for Students for FlexTime Activities

When assigning or registering a student to a FlexTime Activity, Teachers sometimes need to give more context, instructions, or directions for the student, and this context also needs to be visible to the admin team.

Now, Teachers can send notes to students when assigning/registering them for FlexTime via My Class, and these notes will be available to students through notifications and to admins through reports.

  1. In MyClass, select a student and either Register or Assign them to a FlexTime Activity

  2. In the Note to Student filed, enter the note that will be sent to the student (and accessible to them in their notifications)

  3. Admins can access the note in Reports by accessing the FlexTime History report

Reporting - Reporting Permission Options for Teachers

Teachers often need access to reports so they can see how many hall passes, check-ins, or Behaviors they have assigned to a student or other teachers have assigned to them. Previously, an admin would need to add the teachers to a Report Viewer's list, making the process manual and prone to missing some teachers.

Now, a setting has been added in each Minga module to Allow teachers to view reports, giving teachers report viewing permission for that module in one click.

Owners:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab in the desired area of Minga (Hall Pass, Behavior, Points, Check-in, or FlexTime)

  2. Find the modules Settings (for example, FlexTime Settings) and toggle ON Allow teachers to view reports

Release 7.12.0 – December 8, 2025

This update brings requested features to FlexTime such as having multiple activities for one teacher in a Flex Period, registration flexibility, and additional check in capabilities for additional teachers.

New Features

FlexTime - Multiple activities in a period for a single teacher

Previously, Minga restricted teachers to managing only one activity per FlexTime period. This meant teachers had to schedule different activities at different times or share responsibilities with other staff. We’ve eliminated that limitation.

Teachers and Admins can now assign multiple activities to the same teacher during a single FlexTime period.

  1. Navigate to the FlexTime module to create or manage a FlexTime period.

  2. Head over to the Activities page.

  3. Select multiple activities and assign them to the same teacher within the same period.

FlexTime - Registration via the student profile

Previously, only Admins had the convenience of registering students into FlexTime activities from the student’s profile. Teachers had to navigate through the entire FlexTime roster—an inefficient process for quick updates. We’ve streamlined that workflow. Now, both Admins and Teachers can register students into FlexTime activities directly from the student’s profile page.

  1. Open a student’s profile.

  2. Navigate to the FlexTime section.

  3. Click the Register button and assign an activity.

User Lists - Dynamic Auto‑Generated User Lists

Minga now supports auto‑generated user lists that update themselves based on criteria you define—no more manually adjusting lists when students enroll, transfer, or change schedules.

  1. Navigate to the People section.

  2. Click on the new Settings tab.

  3. Toggle Auto-Generated Lists ON or OFF to enable automatic updates.

Improvements

FlexTime - Kiosk Check in for additional teachers

Until now, only the lead teacher could check students in using Kiosk Mode for FlexTime activities. This caused delays when students arrived before that teacher or when activities spanned multiple entry points. Now, any teacher assigned to an activity can launch Kiosk Mode and check in students—no more bottlenecks, no more missed attendance.

User Lists - Feature Enhancements

Minga now allows admins to set a default visibility option for new user lists, saving time and improving cross-staff collaboration.

User Lists - Bulk Change Visibility

Admins can now update the visibility of multiple user lists at once—no more changing them one by one.

  1. Go to the People section.

  2. Click the new User Lists tab.

  3. Select the lists you want to update.

  4. Choose “Set as Private” or “Set as Public” to change visibility in bulk.


Release 7.11.0 – November 14, 2025

By popular demand, this update brings back the ability to directly download report exports to your device instead of being sent via email.

Improvements

Reporting - Direct Download Reports

Previously, the report exports were delivered via email but this introduced delays and added friction when accessing the report as the admins have to navigate away from Minga to their email inbox. Now, report exports will auto-download directly to your device the moment they’re ready. This streamlines your access to important data and reduces the need to hop between platforms.

Admin, Teachers, Staff:

  1. Navigate to any report within a Minga module.

  2. Click the "Export data" button.

  3. When your report is ready, it will automatically download to your device.

  4. Want to download it again? Just head to the Notifications tab and click the report notification to re-trigger the download.


Release 7.10.0 – October 30, 2025

This update brings an exciting new partnership with Omella, increased Student Group Owner permissions, additional FlexTime settings for teachers, and more!

New Features

Integration - Omella Event Ticket Sales

Seamless connection with Omella to allow schools to collect payments and registrations for student activities and events. Event organizers can now enable payments directly from the event creation process in Minga. Whether you're hosting a dance, fundraiser, or graduation ceremony, Omella makes it simple to collect payments securely and efficiently.

  1. Navigate to the Events module in Minga.

  2. Click on Create Event.

  3. Toggle Ticketed Event to “On”.

  4. Follow the link to set up your Omella account and connect it to your event.

Will the ticket data sync back to Minga if I buy using Omella?

No, the data does not automatically sync between Minga and Omella curently. The event organizer will have to manually manage the data.

FlexTime - Allow Teachers to Manage all Activities

We’ve expanded FlexTime functionality to allow teachers to manage any activity, not just the ones they’re assigned to. This gives schools more flexibility in supporting and supervising students during Flex periods.

For Admins

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to the FlexTime module.

  2. Navigate to Settings.

  3. Under FlexTime Settings, toggle Allow Teachers to Manage All Activities to ON.

For Teachers

Once enabled:

  1. Open the FlexTime module and go to Activities.

  2. Select the appropriate Flex period from the dropdown.

  3. Click Manage on any listed activity — regardless of ownership.

Improvements

Student Group Owner Permissions

Teacher FlexTime Settings: Added new toggles for teachers to enable/disable student self-registration on a per-session basis.

People Selector Improvements

We’ve enhanced how student names appear throughout Minga by separating First and Last Name fields. A small change that makes a big impact when searching, sorting, and assigning students. You can now sort students by First Name or Last Name independently.

Release 7.9.0 – October 10, 2025

This update brings an improved exported reports experience, teacher focused enhancements to MyTools, and more!

New Features

Reporting - Large Report Export Service

This enhancement improves system performance and supports administrators who need to manage high volumes of data efficiently. Instead of waiting for downloads to complete within the browser, large exports will now be processed and delivered directly to your inbox.

  1. Navigate to the Reports section in any module.

  2. Select your desired report type.

  3. Click Export data.

  4. That’s it! You’ll receive an email with a download link once your export is ready.

My Tools - Teacher Dashboard Enhancements

Teachers can access resources right from their MyTools page without having to search through the platform for the answers they need. Teachers can now access on-demand training resources and how-to videos directly from their My Tools Dashboard.

My Tools - “Today’s Schedule” for Teachers

Teacher can now see their schedule at a glance every day and quickly jump into the right class with pre-loaded rosters. The Today’s Schedule widget is now permanently visible on the My Tools Dashboard, offering a live, clickable view of the daily class schedule.

Release 7.6.4 – July 18, 2025

This update brings key features into MyClass to streamline teachers classroom experience by enabling them to stay on the MyClass Dashboard to check students in or manage their Flex activities.

New Features

FlexTime - Register/Assign a Student from My Class

Teachers can now register or assign students to upcoming FlexTime activities directly from the My Class interface. This streamlines the process and eliminates the need to switch screens, making scheduling more efficient.

Teachers can now check students in to ongoing FlexTime activities directly via My Class, simplifying attendance tracking during scheduled sessions.

My Class - Page Layout Improvements

Teachers can now toggle between list view and card view within My Class. This provides flexibility in how student data is displayed—allowing for either a compact overview or a more detailed view of student information.

Release 7.6.3 – June 18, 2025

This update introduces significant FlexTime restrictions to improve campus management, including new "No Registration" lists and the ability for students to self-check-in via QR codes.

New Features

FlexTime - No Registration List Restriction

Students added to the "No Registration List" are now automatically blocked from registering for any FlexTime activities. This ensures that only eligible students can participate in sessions, maintaining the integrity of your scheduling.

FlexTime - No Party Groups Restriction

Students in "No Party Groups" are now blocked from registering for the same FlexTime activity.

FlexTime - QR Code Capability for Check-In

Students can now self-check-in to FlexTime activities by scanning a QR code.

FlexTime - Notes for Check-In

Additional context can now be added when checking in students for FlexTime activities.

Improvements

FlexTime - Points for FlexTime Attendance

Students can now earn points for attending FlexTime sessions.

FlexTime - Check-In Time Restrictions

Check-ins will only be allowed during the designated FlexTime session, blocking early or late check-ins.

FlexTime - Tardy Check-In

Students arriving late to FlexTime sessions will now be marked as tardy.

New features and enhancements are now available in the FlexTime module to support more efficient planning, improved consistency, and smoother session execution.

Easily duplicate previously created activities to reduce repetitive setup and maintain consistency across recurring sessions.

Assign Additional Teachers to an Activity

Multiple teachers can now be assigned to a single activity, enabling shared facilitation and improved session coverage.

FlexTime - Student Registration Deadline

Admins can now enforce registration deadlines to lock student sign-ups prior to activity start times.

FlexTime - Teacher/Staff Registration Deadline

Staff-facing registration deadlines allow for more stable scheduling and reduced last-minute changes.

Activities can now be sorted by staff first or last name for faster access and improved visibility.

FlexTime - Reports Enhancements

We have refined our FlexTime reports and have added additional reports to give greater insights into student and staff engagement:

  • Student Report: Improved reporting focused on student activity and engagement.

  • Staff Report: Detailed summaries highlighting staff involvement and oversight.

  • Activity Report: Enhanced tracking and outcomes reporting for activities.

  • Flex History Report with Location: Historical reports now include location data to improve reporting accuracy.

Flextime - Check-In Improvements

Prevent overdue or forgotten hall passes with the ability to automatically end active hall passes when a check-in occurs, simplifying transitions between activities. This can also be implemented for any check-in reason.

Improvements

My Class - Hall Pass Visuals

Easily see who is out on an active hall pass and who is still in class with active hall passes now appearing at the top of your My Class Dashboard. We have added these features to make managing hall passes in My Class a seamless experience.

My Class - User Interface Improvements

Now, you can access My Class with fewer button clicks by having it on the main navigation menu. We have also added new features to have a personalized My Class experience:

  • Automatically collapsing the sidebar will increase screen space to display more students at one time

  • Adjust the font size to prevent names from being cut off, ensuring all student names are visible

  • Use the spacebar to quickly complete an action and assignment without having to click with your mouse
